All is Well Produces SMASH Virtual Event

In past years, SMASH (Seattle Muscian’s Access to Sustainable Healthcare) has put on an in-person concert for their yearly fundraiser, but like everything else in 2020, the pandemic required them to take an alternate approach.

SMASH is an organization dedicated to providing free or subsidized healthcare to local musicians, and this year they’re putting a special emphasis on mental health services. So when SMASH approached us to produce the visual component of a virtual music lineup, we emphatically said yes.

And when we reached out to the larger film community, well, as The Seattle Times put it…

“This community has a long history of supporting our own,” says Ben London, guitarist with Seattle power poppers Stag, who’s helped curate the first three SMASH shows. “Nobody said no for anything other than scheduling.”

There’s a reason we love this city.

The film community came out strong to support our fellow artists.

On Sunday, we drop eight (count ‘em, eight!) brand new, unseen music videos directed by Talia Green, Carlos A.F. Lopez, Vivian Hua, Claire Buss, D.J. Walker, Sam Kelly, Jr., Lael Rogers, and Tony Fulgham. Working under more creative guidelines than usual due to COVID, each director brought exciting creative solutions, ideas, and perspectives as unique as the musicians and directors themselves. (For example, the Tacoma Dome threw their hat in the ring as a location, which made social distancing easier than ever!)

The virtual concert will stream at 4PM on Sunday, Nov 22, on Amazon Music’s Facebook and Twitch channels. We encourage you to tune in and perhaps even donate a dollar or two.

SMASH is right. We have to take care of our musicians. Because music takes care of us.
