Extremely Online: Making Art About and For the Internet
All is Well is hosting a panel and film screening in partnership with 4Culture!
In honor of All is Well’s latest narrative film endeavor…. Writer and director Lael Rogers hosts a conversation between musician/comedian Leeni, filmmaker Claire Buss, and meme sensation Sidney Hunt on going viral and making art in the age of the Internet.
We’ll discuss how the Internet has propelled each artist to larger audiences, and how it inspires or affects their work both positively and negatively. During the panel, we’ll show examples of each artists’ work: the projects that went viral, their favorite work, and any pieces where those overlapped. We’ll discuss the creative process, making a living as a content creator, how we feel about the meaning of “content,” and answer questions from the audience.
Additionally, we’ll screen a work-in-process cut of Rogers’ latest short film, The Influencer, a femme horror film that satirizes social media’s hyper-online culture — an All is Well film made in co-production with Lenny Pictures in association with Zeus Pictures and supported in part by a grant from 4Culture.
The event will take place on twitch.tv/alliswellstudios on December 14th, 2022 at 5:30PM PST.
